UFCST Seminar brings in Leslie M. Kay, Ph.D.

Leslie M. Kay is an associate professor in the University of Chicago Department of Psychology and is currently the director of the Institute for Mind and Biology.

Leslie M. Kay, Ph. D., will give a lecture at an Oct. 4 research seminar organized by the University of Florida Center for Smell and Taste. The event is open to the public.

Dr. Kay is a professor in the University of Chicago Department of Psychology.  She received her Ph.D. in biophysics in 1995 followed by postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Gilles Laurent at the California Institute of Technology, where she studied olfactory bulb mitral cell responses to changes in odor context.

Her laboratory studies olfactory and limbic system neurophysiology, focusing on the mechanisms and functions associated with intra- and inter-regional oscillatory cooperativity.

The lecture she will give at the UFCST Seminar is titled “What the brain tells the nose: neural oscillations and context in olfactory processing.”
